Joseph Goebbels

Paul Joseph Goebbels was a German politician and Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. He was one of German dictator Adolf Hitler's closest associates and most devout followers. Goebbels was known for his zealous, energetic oratory, and virulent anti-Semitism.
Goebbels earned a Ph.D. in Heidelberg University in 1921, writing his doctoral thesis on 18th century romantic drama; he then went on to work as a journalist and later a bank clerk and caller on the stock exchange. He also wrote novels and plays, but they were refused by publishers. Goebbels came into contact with the Nazi Party in 1923 during the French occupation of the Ruhr and became a member in 1924. He was appointed Gauleiter (regional party leader) of Berlin. In this position, he put his propaganda skills to full use, combatting the local socialist and communist parties with the help of Nazi papers and the paramilitary SA. By 1928 he had risen in the party ranks to become one of its most prominent members.
After the Nazis gained power in 1933, he was appointed propaganda minister. One of his first acts was to order the burning of books by Jewish or anti-Nazi authors at Bebelplatz and he proceeded to gain full control of every outlet of information in Germany. Following his appointment, his attacks on German Jews became ever fiercer and culminated in the Kristallnacht in 1938, the first open and unrestrained pogrom unleashed by the Nazis.
An early and avid supporter of war, Goebbels did everything in his power to prepare the German people for a large scale military conflict. During the Second World War, he increased his power and influence through shifting alliances with other Nazi leaders. By late 1943, the tide of the war was turning against the Axis powers, but this only spurred Goebbels to intensify the propaganda by urging the Germans to accept the idea of total war and mobilization. Goebbels remained with Hitler in Berlin to the very end, and following the Führer's suicide he was the second person to serve as the Third Reich's Chancellor — albeit for one day. In his final hours Goebbels allowed his wife, Magda, to kill their six young children. Shortly after, Goebbels and his wife both committed suici

joseph stalin

joseph stalin

Joseph Stalin was General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union's Central Committee from 1922 until his death in 1953. During that time he established the regime now known as Stalinism. As one of several Central Committee Secretariats, Stalin's formal position was originally limited in scope, but he gradually consolidated power and became the de facto party leader and dictator[2] of the Soviet Union.
Stalin launched a command economy in the Soviet Union, forced rapid industrialization of the largely rural country and collectivization of its agriculture. While the Soviet Union transformed from an agrarian economy to a major industrial powerhouse in a short span of time, millions of people died from hardships and famine that occurred as a result of the severe economic upheaval and party policies. At the end of 1930s, Stalin launched the Great Purge, a major campaign of political repression. During the continued repressions in the country under Stalin millions of people who were a threat to the Soviet politics or suspected of being such a threat were executed or exiled to Gulag labor camps in remote areas of Siberia or Central Asia. A number of ethnic groups in Russia were forcibly resettled for political reasons.
During Stalin's rule, the Soviet Union played a major role in the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War (1939–1945). Under Stalin's leadership, the Soviet Union went on to achieve recognition as one of just two superpowers in the post-war era, a status that lasted for nearly four decades after his death until the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

leon trotsky

Leon Trotsky was a Ukrainian-born Bolshevik revolutionary and Marxist theorist. He was one of the leaders of the Russian October Revolution, second only to Lenin. During the early days of the Soviet Union, he served first as People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs and later as the founder and commander of the Red Army and the People's Commissar of War. He was also among the first members of the Politburo.
After leading the failed struggle of the Left Opposition against the policies and rise of Joseph Stalin in the 1920s and the increasing bureaucratization of the Soviet Union, Trotsky was expelled from the Communist Party and deported from the Soviet Union in the Great Purge. As the head of the Fourth International, he continued in exile to oppose the Stalinist bureaucracy in the Soviet Union, and was eventually assassinated in Mexico by Ramón Mercader, a Soviet agent.[1] Trotsky's ideas form the basis of Trotskyism, a major school of Marxist thought that is opposed to the theories and practices of Stalinism.

toastmasters speech

MONEY MADNESS

When i look into society today, i see that people are very different. We have different goals, speak different languages, listen to different music, but i have found one common thing, which is the need for more and more money. Which leaves me thinking ... does money really make the world go round???
Today men are sooo money crazy, that everything is based on money. Like when it comes judging a person, it depends on the amount of zeros he has in his bank account. We respect wealthier people more than poor people. Leaders of masjids and madrassahs are also chosen according to their wealth. Nowadays, when a boy proposes for a girl, the first thing the girl wants to know, is how wealthy the boy is.
We always hear about how busy our parent’s lives are and how that cup of daily coffee has become a vital energy source in order to stand long boardroom meetings and numerous other demanding tasks. I’ve questioned my parents on several occasions on why they’ve become such workaholics and get the same answer each time... “So you can get the best.” Ok i admit, I’m definitely not complaining about getting whatever i desire and i am grateful for that, but on the other hand, some parents feel that they can show there love through gifts, they fail to realise that you can’t buy affection and love cannot be measured by the money you spend. I have seen families who are quite poor; the parents can’t afford to give much worldly things to their children, but give them alot of time, playing simple games, which put smiles on their children’s face.
It’s such a pity to see, that we can’t close our shops or sacrifice 20 minutes of our time to read our namaaz. Yet Allah is the sole provider for all our rosie, which is wealth, that we posses.
There’s a saying which makes one ponder:
Money can buy a bed but not sleep, books but not brains, food but not appetite, finery but not beauty, a house but not a home, medicine but not health, amusement but not happiness, a passport to everywhere but heaven. So once again I ask does money really make the world???

what is propaganda

PROPAGANDA

What is propaganda? In my opinion it is a way or method used to persuade people. Propaganda is used in a lot of fields, socially politically, economically and religiously. The main objective of propaganda is changing the mind set of people, by manipulating the truth as well as shifting the blame. Propaganda is very suttle, un assuming, it plays on the subconscious mind of a person. Its language devices are sensationalism, dramatisation, pan, innuendo, which creates fear and puonae.
